A Big Idea.
In late 2020, a chance encounter between two passionate surfcasters sparked the beginning of something bigger than just another fishing idea. What started as a conversation about improving sinkers quickly evolved into a shared mission to rethink how surfcasting gear could perform.
Like many anglers, they had both felt the frustrations of traditional sinkers: lack of control, unnecessary drag, and limited casting performance. Instead of accepting the status quo, Dave began experimenting. Drawing on his experience on the water, he designed a prototype that delivered real results: improved stability during casting, reduced drag, and greater control and precision.
Recognising the potential, Zane joined the effort and together they turned that prototype into a focused development project. Countless hours of testing on the beach, real feedback from fellow anglers, and continuous refinement led to what DaCinka is today.
We believe DaCinka has the ability to transform fishing. Through extensive field testing and real feedback from fishing communities across New Zealand and around the world, we have built a sinker designed to optimise casting distance, minimise drag, and give anglers superior control and precision.
